Location: 8750 Main Street, Honeoye, NY 14471
This class is different from Philippe’s usual portrait class as the student is required to bring a series of photographs of one individual of their choice which they will be using to achieve a likeness in clay. The success of the result depends greatly on the quality of the photos provided. Students are encouraged to, if possible, bring frontal, profile, three quarter, above and bellow images of the subject. We discourage the use of a phone or tablet to take these photos (due to focal distortion) and instead recommend the use of a camera with a at least 55 mm lens.
The first day will be spent reviewing anatomy and construction, the two remaining days sculpting the portrait. Please note that firing services are not available. Prior experience is encouraged for this class.
All materials are provided for use during the seminar. Class hours are from 9-4:30 daily. Enrollment ranges from 14-18 students.
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $200 is required for registration. Balance of $395 for the seminar will be due 6 weeks prior to the first day of class. A link will be emailed with a reminder at that time to pay online or payment can be mailed. Once balance is paid it is non-refundable.
