Individuals will receive one to one sculpting instruction using water-based clay from Philippe Faraut, while still being encouraged to explore their own styles. Live nude models will be used during class.
This seminar will cover both the portrait (2 days) and the seated full figure (3 days); nude or draped from a live model in water-based clay. Several lectures and demonstrations, on proportions, anatomy and the use of planes in the construction of the body and head will be provided. In addition, time will be spent on the dynamic of several types of drapery. The technique of preparation for firing water-based clay will be discussed. Firing services will not be provided during the workshop.
All materials are provided for use during the seminar. Class hours are from 9-4:30 daily. Enrollment ranges from 14-18 students.
Students traveling by air will want to fly into Rochester, NY (ROC) airport and rent a car (our studio is about 45 minutes south of the city).
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $300 is required for registration. Balance of $650 for the seminar will be due 6 weeks prior to the first day of class. An emailed reminder will be sent at that time to pay online through the link provided or payment can be mailed (PCF Studios, PO Box 722, Honeoye, NY 14471). Once balance is paid it is non-refundable.
