Tangled Roots is the bronze cast made from the clay maquette of the same name. The title of the bust originates from the ancestry of the beautiful model who is both African-American and Irish. The clay sculpture appears on the cover of the instructional sculpting book Mastering Portraiture and is shown to demonstrate both sculpting a likeness and stylization of hair.
