The Fisherman (14.5" x7" x 6" with base) by Philippe Faraut will be auctioned between Friday, December 14 at noon EST and Sunday, December 16 at 5pm EST at @philippefaraut on Instagram. The winner will be the individual with the highest bid at at the closing of the auction.
This original one-of-a-kind terracotta bust is part of Faraut's collection of sculptures from his instructional book series. Included with the sculpture is a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. The original clay version of the sculpture appears on page 36 of Figure Sculpting Volume 1.
The Fisherman is unique in that it was fired solid (with the base it weighs 15.25 lbs). This bust was inspired by a long-ago experience with the local fishermen of Carriacou (part of the Granada Islands) in the Caribbean.
