Individuals will receive one to one sculpting instruction using water-based clay from Philippe Faraut, while still being encouraged to explore their own styles. Live models will be used during class.

This 5-day seminar will focus on the portrait in water-based clay. Several lectures and demonstrations, on proportions, anatomy and the use of planes in the construction of the head will be provided. In addition, time will be spent working on ethnicity, gender differences and expression. The technique of preparation for firing water-based clay and patinas will be discussed. Firing services will not be provided during the workshop.

All materials are provided for use during the seminar. Class hours are from 9-4:30 daily. Enrollment ranges from 14-18 students.

A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $300 is required for registration. Balance of $650 for the seminar will be due 6 weeks prior to the first day of class. Once balance is paid it is non-refundable.
