The origin for the name of this bronze giraffe bust is three-fold. As she was created during the Covid global pandemic of 2020 she is affectionately nick-named "Hope" after the live giraffe calf born at the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans. Additionally, she is a symbol of the pandemic-induced poaching taking place in Uganda due to the collapse of ecotourism during this difficult time. Lastly, she is a nod to the wonderful nonprofit Giraffe Heroes Project whose catchphrase is "Stick Your Neck Out", an organization whose goal is to highlight the efforts of heroes making a difference in our society. Pandemic Giraffe by Philippe Faraut is a limited bronze edition of 5.
